The Nikon D2h has a very low pixel resolution by modern standards, at only 4.1MP it is something that most people would skip past as being unworthy of being called a camera even compared to a basic compact camera today. This would be a mistake in my opinion - the D2h has the robust solid and reliable construction of all Nikon Professional models and has been used to capture some of the best sports and action photographs of recent times. This is because it has an extremely high frame rate for capturing action - a minimum of 8 frames per second - and the simple fact that for sports and action photography 4.1MP is just fine and will provide print resolution up to a double page spread in a magazine. The sensor, dynamic range, autofocus and other features are not as sophisticated as more modern cameras, but it will blaze away until it has 40 frames in the buffer pretty much guaranteeing that you will be able to capture the 'decisive moment' in the scene in front of you while people with more processor-hungry (and much more expensive!) cameras are frustrated by shutter lag, full buffers and slow frame rates. A bargain at $300 or less in good condition used on eBay. Highly recommended for doing exactly what it was built to do - take a lot of pictures at acceptable journalistic resolution very fast indeed!Read full review
