Can you survive the Reek?
Imagine your college years, past or present, and those grand adventures that you went on during break. Now imagine on that weekend ski trip, that everything went to pieces, machines piercing through the earth, killing, and you are stuck in a desolte motel. Enter Reeker - both the movie and the antagonist. Reeker is a pretty good horror movie. If like me, you are sick of watching slasher flicks that have as much originality as a cucumber, but not nearly as healthy, try Reeker. It has one redeeming quality for me, that was something special in this genre. The ending was a shock! And it made sense, which is rare! I am not much for most horror, just supernatural and zombie/vampire/werewolf flick. I have one rule in picking a horror movie: If it can actually happen, then I ... I don't watch movies with kids who break down and get their organs harvested, or cut up and buried by some lunatic, that's on the news in real life. Instead, I watch what stretches my imagination, and leaps into the world of dark ghouls and spectres, fanged vamps and mindless walking dead. I reccomend Reeker if you want to step out of the ordinary. Also try Reeker 2, and for a laugh, the other Ghost House realease, Dance of the Dead. In range, none of these should cost over 10 bucks new. If they do, give it a day or two. Happy hunting.

Best 'All Around' Indy film. Don't miss it! A+
I loved it! INDY US horror film. 5 teens stranded at a deserted desert diner, and a mysterious creature killing them off one by one. Jeepers Creepers meets a Texas Chainsaw remake. BUT GOOD! Reeker starts with story pre-credits sequence with a family who hit a deer with their car. Blood-smeared windscreens and children’s screams are frightening enough, but when the family finally manage to screech to a stop and get out to inspect the damage, there’s a peculiar vibe in the air. With a strange atmosphere and shimmering heat hazes, it’s not long before the kid is screaming once again, as he spots his poor old daddy wandering around dazed with half his skull removed. Prologue over and into the story,Trip is 1st, and as his name suggests, he’s a mini drug fiend, as evidenced in his ... I loved it! Trip buys a few pills, but decides to steal the whole stash anyway (bad move) and skateboards off to the car-share rendezvous point, where he and four others will be travelling across the desert to a rave / festival / gathering. As Trip only knows his buddy Nelson, this of course makes it nice and easy for onscreen meet-and-greet time. Trip and Nelson are the two buddies, Cookie’s the blonde cutie, Jack’s the blind one and feisty Gretchen is the driver.These R not your typical teen dumb-asses, these are typical teen dumb-asses with some decent character and particularly nice lines in wit. All of them get along fine, but when Trip reveals his drug load, Gretchen stops the car, orders Trip out. It’s the start of a chain of events (no mobile signal, car develops problems, they run out of gas) that lead the group back to the diner which they have just passed, now deserted. ‘Doctor’ Radford busts Trip’s theft, and has followed the group to the diner threatening Trip leading to a very tense scene in the toilets, and one of the biggest laughs of the film, a failed emergency flare situation. There’s also a cool touch when Michael Ironside turns up - always great in any film - as a truck driver searching for his lost wife in his motor home. The creature finally shows. It’s brilliantly conceived. 1st only noticeable on screen as a heat (smell?) shimmer, our first glimpses come during the attack on Nelson as he waits in bed for blonde cutie Cookie to return. Sensing there’s something under the bed, Nelson tentatively drops a slipper onto the floor, where whisk heads and whirring scalpel blades appear and immediately rip the slipper to shreds. It’s one of the scariest things you’ve ever seen. As Nelson bounces around the room desperate not to touch the floor, we cheer as he forms a plan, smothers himself in a blanket and hurls himself at the motel room window in a desperate attempt to escape. We cheer even louder the second time when he does it! Good shocks and scares.Reeker manages be laced comedy too. The dialogue between the characters is funny (”Least you can still see.” “Least you can still whack off!”), and even the slapstick comes across well – Trip’s attempt to siphon gas from Ironside’s motor home received a huge laugh from the audience at London’s March FrightFest event. That’ll teach him not to read the labels. Smart, tense, a well written KICK A$$ script! (I'm a free lance writer!), well shot and well performed with some cool CGI effects, Reeker is a MUST-SEE for any fans of indy horror. GREAT INDY cast. Don't miss this!

Low Expectations: Great Surprise!! Decent Film!
It has been awhile that I grab a movie expecting little and be pleasantly surprised. A group of friends sets out on a partying adventure only to wind up fighting for their lives. I actually liked this one. It did not have that ultra low budget feel or look and it actually winded you around to a fresh and reasonable storyline. Sure there is issues with this and that in the film but once the ending is reached, any issues can be disregarded! Awesome horror flick you may not of heard of
I loved this movie. I saw the sequel 1st, no man's land. Love the concept, loved the execution and the story. Watch for yourself you will not be disappointed
