Arrived early and double wrapped with bubble wrap. I examined both sides of the stone prior and after breaking in (albeit with a cheap jewelers loupe, 30x-60x-90x) and couldn't find any significant grit contamination on either side.
The case also acts as base or holder for the stone has a textured rubber mat which combined with the weight of the stone easily keeps it in place while in use.
definitely an upgrade in quality and durability compared to the cheaper $20-$30 diamond stones.

Exactly what I ordered with a very fast delivery time. Stone works very well. Unfortunately the instructions supplied inside the box don’t mention not using water but, the instructions on the back of the box do. I didn’t read the back of the box until after I had used it with a small amount of water. Duh.
