    DLP technology, unfortunately

    A DLP projector unfortunately has a tendency to fade in color correctness to the yellow green side of the color balance and no amount of fiddling with the controls can bring the color back to acceptable levels so while it projects a good sharp image it's best to use this just with black and white images.

    Dell 2300MP DLP projector excells for outdoor movies!

    My use for the Dell 2300MP is as an outdoor movie projector . . . and it excells at this!!! I've never owned OR used a video projector before and had only read a few reviews of various projectors. I got other tips from outdoor movie websites and blogs, so I had a general idea of what features were recommended. Here are the best features of this projector for outdoor use: 1) Bright image. 2300 lumens is enough to overpower just about any ambient light, including the full moon! 2) Image quality, format and size. It gives sharp views with good contrast. Our screen size allows 10' images (diagonally) with the projector about 20' away. You can view in 4:3 or 16:9. Plenty of space for lots of viewers.     My experiences with the 2300MP

    The 2300MP has been a very good projector for us. The lumens (brightness) and picture quality for the price is a very good value. Although this model is not sold new anymore, anyone who can find this good used projector for a fair price will enjoy the experience. We had paid $1,200.00 new for ours from Dell. Although not fully digital, the picture quality is excellent when used with a 1024x768 output from an average dvd player or home theater setup. Our original broke down after many years of heavy use, and we bought a replacement unit through e-bay. The new unit has now been sold and is in use outdoors at a campground where the campers just love the very large bright and clear display. Many input options make this a very versatile unit.     Good performance and value for the money!

    I'm really pleased with my Dell 2300MP DLP. Though it's much lighter than the Panasonic brand I used before, the picture quality is surprisingly good for an older model such as this. In fact, the image is sharper than my previous unit. Also it is easy to operate and I got great value for my money!
