I personally would pay more for shipping to re assure my package is going to make it ON TIME. I've spent thousands in the past 3 months just to have USPS screw me over on the delivery timing. Everything is always delayed, late, wrong delivery, or the package completely passes me up and goes 4 hours away in the wrong direction. Ive Never had any issues with private carriers
