The receiver is larger than expected. Transmitter requires batteries.
The unit worked well, but the installation was challenging. The receiver was to large to fit inside of ceiling canopy or the electrical box. I was able to install receiver outside of the original electric housing (in my attic) and re-route the antenna. I used with an older Hunter ceiling fan. Just be aware and check your fan canopy and to make certain it will fit.

Good option for Hunter fans
4th one I have installed and this one was to replace a previous unit Not sure if failure was the fan or the receiver installed with the fan. Easy to install with Hunter/Casablanca fans. Not sure how it works with other brand fans. Was concerned about need to replace batteries but has not been an issue so far. Much better than just having the remote that comes with many of today's Hunter fans.
