I am an experienced user of computers. Certified software developer and an active worker. Ironically, I dont know the difference between this model and the WRT54G, but I think it is just another model for the same function. The advantage of buying Linksys is the Great Customer Service They have. They help you to install the device over the phone, they help you to configure and they store the settings in their database just in case you forget something or for future reference. Is just great. The device it self works great. Is a great device with great coverage and great reliability. In the past month that I have had it, I needed to turn it off once because I had no signal on my computers but I think it was more a problem of the router that brings the signal than the wireless device. The signal is great, takes no space to place it, and supports lot of settings that are really useful. I will definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants to get some wireless signal at home or the office. No matter if you are experienced or not, just calling Customer service you can get all the issues solved, so, in this case, even my a non experienced computer guy (having all the calbes needed and all the conectors ready) could easily install this device. I purchased my router about 2 years ago, really breaking it in now though. Ive found that it has a very easy and basic interface with advanced options for those who know more about networks, I myself dont however. Security in a Apartment complex such as I am in with many wireless networks showing up when you plug in a wireless card told me that theres alot of possible ways to have people sneek onto your connection if they wanted and so the MAC Access filter this router has was a must and again, very easy to set-up! Since getting it, Ive purchased the Cable Modem by LinkSys and suggest it to people I know who might be needing a router without needing a Bachelors Degree to install it. Deffinently a good buy if you need a router and works with seemingly ANY operating system that is mainstream. Ive had it connected to Windows 98 up to Windows XP Pro! All with great results. I highly recommend LinkSys if you plan to network a small buisness, office, or home.Read full review
worked great for 5 min. But when i tried to update the firmware it got all fried up and the Diag light starts blinking. I had a hard time fixing it. This will work perfectly if you leave the software as it is. Easy to set up. Dont update unless youre extremely sure of what you are doing. It wont let you down if you dont mess with it. WEP features easy to set up to. Its a router for more experienced people
It was great to have...but I could not use it...there was a lot to do about this stuff...so I have to sit it on the bottom of the tv stand and let someone in the family use it...I'm just gonna use my cellphone to download music....

This wireless router is perfect for my needs. I've tried other wireless routers before, and they never really served my purposes. I use this Linksys router for accessing the Internet and printing wirelessly. I can not imagine a different wireless router working as well for me.
I bought this router last week ago. I am satisfied with the quality and its easy to set up and gives power full signals. I am a great fan of Linksys and I recommends this router for home and office use..
I bought this for the kids to use for online gaming. It setup and worked withing 10 seconds. The kids use it for online gaming on the Playstation3, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo DSI. I use it for wifi phone apps. Used it more than 50 foot away and it works great.

easy hook up(saavy son in law) and it provided me what I needed-a simple, cheap solution to get qa signal to my laptop in other areas of my property.Love it-although I can't compare it to other wireless routers, it beats driving into town to sit at some establishment with a signal or sliding in with the neighbor's signal...inexpensive freedom and peace of mind.
