  • Magnificent lens for Photo work, not perfect for video use in manual focus mode.( but with the app its maybe better?? )

    This lense has wonderful characteristics. Its sharp wide open and it has a lovely over all character. my only issue is with the focus ring and this issue is only relative to video usage. The issue is that the focus ring (used for manual focus) is not actually attached mechanically to the lense. It works much like a mouse and the lenses AF drive system moves the glass inside. The firmware has a feature where if you rotate the ring quickly the focal distance changes aggressively but if you rotate is slow the change is very fine. So it's basically impossible to rotate from one focal distance to another based on a specific amount of rotation of the ring because the change of focus changes based on the speed you rotate the ring ( its like it has variable sensitivity based on how fast you rotate ...
