Had to replace the original ring twice and it will break again for sure. This replacement M-A ring is very expensive but an 28 1.4D with a broken M-A ring is even worse. It looks like it’s 3D printed but I’m not sure. It looks like aluminium and it’s not magnetic. I compared it with my first broken ring and it looks optically 99,5% identical on the inside and 98% on the outside (caveat: just my observation). Have not replaced it yet so can’t say anything about fitment and mechanical performance.

I’ve replaced the original ring with this metal ring (fairly easy job) and although it works fine, unfortunaley the pysical inner diameter is aprox. 0,35mm larger than the original which in turn results in extensive ‘play’ when operating the ring. Mechanically it switches fine but the play in the M position is bigger than in the A position. Therefor I now rate it 90% mechanically the same. It works but it’s dimensions are a little too big.
