    Good as it gets

The only ones who wont like this record are those who insist that bands rewrite their greatest hits every time they release new music. This is an awesome "goodbye, farewell and amen" from America's greatest band. Thoughtful and profound statements of our times, a little fun here 'n there and just incredible harmonies and musicianship. The gems are the vocals on "I Don't Want to Hear Anymore" and "Do Something"....the hauntingly beautiful instrumental "I Dreamed There Was No War" and the always creative arrangements from the late "Lone Arranger" Glenn Frey. Henley's political and environmental commentary sit well within the musical framework. I could go on and on, but then, I'm biased. I'm extremely proud of this group of men and their contribution to our times. Long after the ...

    Eagles nesting....

This is unfortunately not the best review, I can hear an absolute division in the creativity, not a collaborative effort at all, when you listen you can hear each song and it sounds like a solo record song from that particular artist, with the exception of the backing vocals and harmonies. Hard to tell it is an Eagles album. Great production& mix, but they played it SAFE.. a bit genaric, and slow with no edge at all, the only steady and true was Joe Walshed contributions. Over all a low side of good at best rating. Some really good songs, but overall just filler from any other Eagles release.

  • Different

I had not heard of this album until recently,so I bought a copy out of curiosity. It seems to be a rather different style of music for the Eagles;some longer songs, more orchestration for instance. I like this album, and I am glad that this group is still playing together, producing nice music.

  • Awesome cd set. Love the Eagles!!!!

They sound as good as ever!! Nice mix of songs as they always do. Wish they'd keep making music forever!!!! Great blending of their voices and like how each musician has their own specific songs that they're featured in. Their tour was great this year too in case you didn't get to see the Long Road Out of Eden concert!!!! Incredible!!!!

  • Long Road out of Eden - Long, Eagle Quality

Predictable Eagle quality. Love, seriously love a few of the songs others are just filler. One is too long. I think it may grow on me after a few more rounds if I can stop myself from jumping to my favorites. Definitely some great memorable songs. My favorite - "I don't want to hear any more". Others becoming favorites - "Busy being fabulous", "Last good time in town", "What do I do with my heart", and "No more cloudy days", "Waiting in the weeds". *UPDATE MONTHS LATER*.... absolutely love listening to this CD. Has fallen into the category of "one of my favorites."
