Putting the tiny nail like handles back in was a challenge for me due to arthritis. I used a large sewing needle to open the holes a little more and then Iwas able to get them in. Using a tweezer was useful. The desk fits nicely in my 1959’s era school room and the top of the desk has lots of room for books, an apple or two, globe, eyeglasses, keys etc.
