A little more 'bounce' than bass. Certainly not 'hard'!
From the outset, you get the impression that it's going to be high-energy (duh!) driven bass-lines and melodic synths' over the top, with a few hard-as-.. remixes and cheeky bootlegs and vocals laid over the top now and then.. it's not. This is unfortunate, however, as it is because of these original impressions that I decided to give it a go and buy it, despite a few small skepticisms to begin with (but the TV advert seemed to prove the good points!); and so... *buys it* Unfortunately, what the first CD promises to continue onto in the second CD, doesn't quite arrive. The first CD starts off with a little too much 'Stilton' for my own personal liking, but then gradually works it's way into much deeper/harder bass-line tracks, that are more like the 'hard energy' the title were suggesting ... The second CD, however, is out-and-out "Scouse-house" ..and not the erm.. 'good' kind, either! If your idea of a good time of a Friday night, is down the park, behind the bushes with the local bike and a bottle of White Lightening between you, then you may well love this album, but otherwise, you'll probably be struggling to give it more than a few listens before it's consigned to living it's days on the shelf, probably collecting dust. I will admit, however, that this review has been written without getting to the third of the CD's, which for the price, is reasonable value, in principle, it's just a pity about the actual music that's contained on the CD's themselves. All in all, therefore, i'd probably give this a 'fair' 5/10 for it's worth.
