So bad, that Seagate are being sued
I have bought and sold many of these drives back when they were new. I think almost all of them have now failed including one that I had been using to backup data for some time. I didn't think the computer would have one in it because I have replaced all of them now. But this one escaped the cleanse and unfortunately went the way of the other 99.9% of Seagate 7200.11 drives. I was led to believe that it was possible with these drives to replace the circuit board with an identical but still working drive and you could recover your data. Several sellers on various websites make this claim. I HAVE NEVER had any luck recovering one of these drives using that method. This actual drive I purchased in desperation as there was something I needed to get off my backup drive. This actual drive works ...
