    An offbeat, political, counterculture rock opera

    I wonder how many old farts my age will really get this movie. It's done from a young viewpoint; its creators obviously don't much like or trust people over 39. The approach is uncompromising and demands a willingness to give a little with your perspective in order to understand and internalize. But then again, that's why I prefer the company of younger people to those my age. The narrative-by-comic-book technique is novel and, for me, easy to grasp although another older person (60+) had trouble with it. Conceptually, the premise is no more horrible or disgusting than a fair amount of the devolution literature of the past 80-90 years, and the approach actually makes the material more accessible. The photography is straightforward and is of the school of gore that splatters blood but ...

    My new favorite rock opera! This is so incredibly creative, brilliant, creepy, entertaining, well-written, well-acted, well-sung, and enjoyable. It's like Saw meets The Phantom of the Opera meets Rocky Horror Picture Show meets opera meets heavy metal! Not for the squeamish.
