I've always used OEM oil filters but didn't think air filters mattered. After watching a youtube video about how aftermarkets air filters don't seal up properly. I went and check the Fram filter in my Excursion. Sure enough the rubber flange around the base had started pulling out and was letting dirt by. The flange on the Motorcraft is a little more rigid while the Fram is soft and pliable. I'm sticking with the Motorcraft from now on. The video claimed the nose cones can come out of the aftermarket filters as well, looking at the Motocraft filter it has a glue holding it in.

Fit my application per Motorcraft's listed vehicles as they specified, and filters the intake air so it works as it should. What else is there to say, it is a middle of the road manufacturer branded air filter? No step on snek!
