Excellent starter camera
I wanted a sturdy starter-camera for my 9-year-old. He wanted one for Christmas, but he is really rough on his stuff. After reviewing price-vs-durability of new cameras, I decided to try a gently used second hand camera. This one came recommended by several contractors for job-site pictures. No frills. No zooming lens. They cited its reliability and durability so I gave it a try. So far I am happy with my purchase. It takes surprisingly good pictures, especially for this camera's age, and is easy to use. He has dropped it, several times. Once down the stairs. It still works just fine. I wish I could teach him to be less of a clutz, but in the meantime, I would definitely consider purchasing another gently used Digimax in this model, even if it -wasn't- for a clutzy 9-year-old. The Samsung Digimax 4010 digital camera is an inexpensive little camera that produces reasonably good photos; quite satisfactory for general use. I use this camera quite a bit when I am working on projects and want to document something or another during a construction process. Since it is inexpensive, I don't have to worry about accidentally destroying a camera that I have a considerable investment in.
