In this candid, revealing book, the man who has been at the center of the controversy called 'Iran-contra' details what he did and why he did it. • Very Good Book!

I really enjoyed this book, gave a new (and likely more accurate) perspective on the Iran-Contra affair. If you don't know anything about that, read this book!

  • A Fine Autobiography of a Soldier Left on the Battlefield

Whether you think Ollie North was a dedicated Marine who got hung out to dry by the Reagan Administration (like I do) or think he was a borderline felon, his story is compelling. From his early leadership posts in Vietnam to his job at the National Security Council that he became infamous for, North shares his many experiences in an engaging way. The book is disproportionately heavy on the NSC Iran/Contra activities and times, but that makes sense based on when it was published and why we even know the name Ollie North. This book is worth your time to read if you like military or political history.
