Of course it's not going to be as good as the bigger sonars you'd have on a boat but for bank fishing it's handy to at the very minimum help you map out and find the depth of the water you're fishing, structures on the bottom. Seeing fish on the screen is just a bonus. You still have to find what they're biting.
