Students begin the simulation by searching for a job, determining their salaries, and figuring their take-home pay. They will then learn how to pay bills using sample checks and registers, balance their checkbooks, rent and furnish a apartment, buy a car, and pay taxes. Students learn about preparing for major purchases, moving out on their own, and handling unexpected expenses. The simulation can be used for a semester-long course, requiring about one day of class time every one or two weeks. Included with the book is a CD that contains all of the reproducible masters in PDF format as well as Microsoft Excel files set up to assist with calculations.
