I've watched this film multiple times, typically when life has delivered my household hard times. It never fails to help me cope & influenced me to become a practicing Buddhist.

This film has 2 stories running alternately--the story of the Buddha (played by Keanu Reeves) and a modern day account of the search for a lama in the USA. Bridget Fonda is excellent as the mother of the little boy who is possibly the reincarnated lama. I felt that the role of Buddha was not the best of fits for Keanu Reeves. I have seen movies where he seemed to fit the part better. It is an odd story at best. There were places that the story seemed a bit cumbersome, but I did find it entertaining and will undoubtedly watch it again.
I liked that this movie is about spirituality. It really does open your eyes to see the differences life is in the United States compared to life in India. It made me understand more about the Buddha ideology and what peace really means to me. I bought this movie to do a presentation about Siddhartha and I remembered watching this movie that had Keanu Reeves playing Siddhartha. It is a really great movie and I recommend it to anyone who likes extrodinary adventures.
I finally had the chance to watch the awsome, moving, powerful movie on Youtube and toward the end of the movie I broke into tears! With that, I also enjoyed seeing Keanu Reeves portraying the role of the Buddha prince. I had no idea that he looked so young in this movie even before he starred in The Matrix which I haven't seen yet. Simply put, I enjoyed the movie and the music very much. So wonderful was this movie that one cannot help but take in the majesty and beauty this movie brings. Watch this wonderful movie. You won't be disappointed. :)
