Phenominal "vintage" changer!
I bought my first component CD player over 30 years ago! To the best of my memory, I've had at least 6 I can remember. I've had just about every format that has been offered in that time. My favorite was always a carousel. The best I had previously was an onkyo. It lasted roughly 10 years and sounded great. In a time where the popularity of cd's has dwindled, I found myself once again in the market. Having had to rebuild my audio setup almost from scratch, I went with Yamaha, as my components, as my uncle had a full on "magical" to me system when I was a kid in the early 80's. I couldn't afford such back then!! WELL.... It happened that Yamaha no longer produces a changer AT ALL! I wasn't willing to spend thousands on a single, so I started my research, and found what their last produced ... I bought my first component CD player over 30 years ago! Good & Bad
Good - The 5CD holder; it's quiet; it has several options for the display window; it can be opened while a cd is playing; it has several programing options; it has an optical plug too; sounds great. Bad - the device end of the power plug is big-it protrudes too much out from the back of the machine--we had to change out the plug for a flat ended one. The top surface of the machine is rough & scratchy, which makes it feel grimy. Fabulous CD changer. In such wonderful shape I almost thought it was brand new. I have so enjoyed a multiple disc changer as it keeps me from having to reload after just one cd.
