About this product

Product Information

The Big-Ass Book of Crafts is packed with ideas for sprucing up your living space; concocting fabulous, all-natural body products; designing your own unique stationery; and creating countless other crafts that will convince your friends and loved ones that you're the secret love child of Martha Stewart (only much, much cooler). Forget crocheted doilies and itchy knit sweaters--TLC's While You Were Out top designer Mark Montano has created stylish and imaginative projects that range from a Warhol-esque Ultrasuede iPod case to photo-adorned boxer shorts to African mask patio chairs to wooden night-light boxes. Divided into sections that include Outdoorsy (ideas to enhance your backyard), Dishing It Out (decorating plates using different techniques), You've Been Framed (innovative picture framing ideas), and Can I Have a Light? (creating and decorating lamps, lanterns, and chandeliers), it's as entertaining to read as it is endlessly inspiring. With more than one hundred and fifty inventive and fun projects, The Big-Ass Book of Crafts is the perfect activity book for readers of every mood, budget, and skill level.

    Great book.

The book is full of great ideas. Some of the craft projects I would not try only because they are not my taste, but even then you can take a little of one project and a little of another and create your own. Great book.

  • Lots of great ideas. Could use more pictures of steps & completed items.

This book is a good choice for people who want ideas and can use them to create their own unique things. It's a perfect resource for inspiration. Very family friendly. Each project has clear steps and a complete supply list. As a craft instructor I can see how many of the projects could easily be adapted to the needs of students at any level or taste. The only negative is that more pictures of the steps and/or the finished projects would have been helpful. In almost every project, a few more pictures would have been helpful, especially for the beginning crafter. Throughout the book there are black framed areas that look as though a picture was planned but for one reason or another it wasn't included. But over all, it is a book that I plan to keep in my collection and will recommend to ...

  • I am totally making gifts for Christmas this year!~

I got The Big-Ass Book of Crafts because my daughter thought I would get a kick out of it! She was RIGHT! There is always a first time. I thumbed through it first, then I went back through it, then I made an item from it.. all in 3 hours. Some of the crafts were a little off the wall, some were something that I wouldn't even look at much less buy. But there were TONS of things that I would! I made the chandelier lamp, beautiful, and I received a lot of praise. Then I showed them the book, they are ordering it now. So all in all, buying The Big-Ass Book of Crafts was a Great idea! Can't wait to see the look on peoples faces this year at Christmas! Oh and by the way.. they can't return the present, but they can sell it at a garage sale.. But with beautiful functional crafts like these.. they ...

  • The Big Ass Book of Crafts Review

I love this book! The directions are very easy to follow and use supplies readily available even where I live. I've already done a couple of projects out of here and they turned out fabulous! The techniques in here could also be applied to many other different projects. This book has inspired me and every time I flip through it, ideas run rampant through my brain! I love the glossary in the back to explain the terms you might not be familiar with. He also includes a resource guide, showing you where you could purchase the supplies needed. The instructions themselves were very colorfully worded, making it an entertaining as well as educational read. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to learn something new, or to see how many different things can be done with ...

  • If you can get it cheap it's worth it.

It's ok...has a variety of crafts that are suggested. Easy stuff. Maybe one or two projects are of interest to me...but the price I paid with free shipping couldn't be beat.
