Just wow

Very usable .. great bucket brigade circuit .. works nicely with dirt .. not the cleanest chorus but thats probably not why you would get this particular one .. perfect for dirty rythem or lead .. good addition to the pedal board ...

MXR ZW38 Zakk Wylde Chorus Guitar Effect Pedal
I bought this because I am changing over from midi and a rack mount effects unit to a pedal board. I heard some positive things about this chorus. One of the things I like about it, is that it can be fairly mild or pretty radical as far as chorus goes. It is almost Flanger like on the more radical settings. I like how you can adjust the high and low frequencies independently and it has a good level control. It works really well with clean sounds. I know Zakk plays it distorted too. I'm not completely sold on how it sounds with full on distortion. I have it set on fairly broad range - more radical setting. I want chorus, but I like how it will almost do a flanger sound - which in my opinion, doesn't sound quite as good distorted. But I really like how it works on clean settings. ... Good, versatile, chorus, good build quality and feels solid. True bi pass. It was a very good price. I'm using it on the front end (not in the effects loop) of my amp - Marshall JVM 210 head. It's not quite as nice as rack mount chorus, but it's good. I'm keeping it. An update since I wrote this 3 years ago. Liked the chorus, but got a wild hair to check out the tone print chorus, by TC Electronics. Sold the Black Label chorus and used the TC for about a year... and hated it. Sold the TC and went back to the MXR Black Label Chorus. Love it. Sounds great and with the separate bass and Treble control, you can really dial in the sound you want. It's been on my pedal board for about 1-2 years since I got it again and it is not going anywhere. Great pedal!

Zakk Wylde MXR Chorus pedal
Needed a chorus pedal for my set up and after searching for a bit I decided to get this one. It is built very sturdy and is very versatile. The effects can go from light and subtle to insanely Wylde! Good quality stomp box that you really can’t go wrong with. Just what I needed in my live gig rig effects pedal board.

pretty good tone, could use a double switch for 2 different settings
I mainly use this pedal for songs that calls for a little coloration but not too overbearing. Better for distortion settings than the clean compared to other chorus pedals, though you can get an 80's type chorus tone out of it.
