I bought this to use on my PC. Steam unfortunately doesn't recognise it as an Elite controller and only as a regular XBOX one. Therefore the flashy paddle buttons on the back can't be independently mapped from the Steam Controller menu which is a major let down. To buy this new is between £110 and £140! I bought mine on here as NEW for £65 but I suspect it was refurbished as there were no batteries in the box. It also isn't wireless but does come with a USB cable. Besides having a nice heavy feel to it, "Is it heavy? Then it's expensive, put it back!", shiny trigger buttons and a flashy case, I can't help but feel this is stunningly over priced for what you get. No wireless?! However, it does handle nicely. I recommend getting this used or refurbished. Don't pay full price for this as it simply isn't worth it. Read full review

TLDR: Wouldn’t recommend Pros: Easy to open up and repair Replacement parts cheap Extra functionality with rear paddles Feels solid Uses normal AA batteries Lots of custom parts out there to customise the aesthetic Cons: For a “pro” controller, seems to break easily Lots of reports of stick drift Cheap replacement parts shouldn’t be a pro - it should be a quality warning! Not worth the high price tag, Thoughts: (As a bit of background, I bid on this auction, knowingly buying two broken Elite pads. Paying less for the two than one in good condition would sell for on its own.) This feels like a robust controller, but bear in mind that both of the controllers I won in the auction were broken - doesn’t exactly stir up feelings of confidence. There’s a good weight to the pad (so if you’re the sort that likes to launch your controller in rage, this is one that’ll do some damage to whatever it hits. The pads feel as though they’re well made and there’s good action on the analog sticks and triggers (now that I’ve fixed ‘em up.) The digital pad responds accurately, and the various buttons seem to do what they’re meant to, when they’re meant to, with no perceptible lag. Not very impressed with the disc pad, but the cross pad works well. I guess my biggest issue with the Elite concerns the rear paddles. Maybe I’m just too uncoordinated, but I find the rear paddles too easy to hit by accident. I love the idea of having the extra buttons there, but they just seem to be poorly placed (the Razer Wolverine has a much more sensible design.) If I hadn’t got these at such a cheap price (for fixing up) I wouldn’t have bothered. There really isn’t anything that special to justify the high price tag!Read full review
