    Buy one if you can find one. I do not think you will be sorry. Check out the resent photos I took with it.

    I was looking for a short zoom lens for my Canon 5D Mark II that I just recently acquired. I didn't want to spend the money on an L lens. This lens got great reviews and they were all true. Some say it is hard to tell the difference in the photo quality between this one and an L lens. I guess that is why they are hard to find. It is tack sharp and focuses fast. Great saturation of colors and contrast. I lucked out and caught one that was just listed on a buy it now.

    Parts debris - debris actually broken mechanism.

    The product was described as not working with debris that could impact picture quality. The debris were actually a large part of the mechanism that had broken off. Not what I was hoping for but I was aware that I was taking a risk with this purchase.

    Good lens.......but

    This is a fairly sharp lens considering it's price, but, the motor always seems to conk out after several years- this is my 3rd one. But, considering you can buy it used for under $100, I'm not really complaining as I do get a heck of a lot of shots out of it over that time period.
