      Works excellent and price is reasonable

      I bought this UPS to replace an older one. It appears these newer APC units are re-designed such that the heavy iron based transformer (internal) is not needed any more, because it is much lighter than the older models. Also, when the unit kicks in (after an AC power dropout) is is completely quiet, no noisy 120Hz rattle like the old one did. So they must have based the new design on a much higher switching frequency, allowing for small ferrite transformers instead of the heavy and noisy iron one. It also has a good Windows app to set it up on your PC, and showing you all the important parameters under operation. The SLA battery used in it is a standard one, so if it gives up after 3 years, there is no need to buy an expensive APC battery, you can get a generic battery that is much cheaper ...

      APC has been my standard for years

      When a storm took my last one out, (no computer equipment was damaged!), knew the brand to replace it with. Have had an APC battery backup for years. Never any problems. Highly recommend them.

      A must have for protecting your valuable electronics

      The BE850M2 is a great upgrade option for my old BACK-UPS 550. It has a smaller footprint and longer run-time.The USB charging ports are nice to have too! I recommend to my customers the importance of having a UPS to protect your equipment from power events and APC is the leader.

      Great value UPS

      Great backup and surge protection at reasonable cost. Living in South Florida, we get a lot of spikes and power drops during storms... Usually just for a few seconds but enough to cause electronics to shutdown or reboot. Use this unit for our audio/video setup in living room. Protects the equipment and helps minimize impact of storm related power fluctuations. For the price, well worth for both the convenience and mitigating risk of damage to our electronics
