At first, the battles were only short skirmishes, but it soon escalated into open war. The whole campaign lasted 5 months and ended with a Soviet victory. The second Overlord scenario, Cape Torokina Landings, highlights the fierce battle for Cape Torokina between US Marines and Japanese forces that took place years later therefore it is not part of the campaign.
Have everything you could think of in Memior 44.
I like the system because you can do any battle you could ever imagine in World War Two.
The other advantage is you can do a battle in about two hours.
I have done miniatures for years and some of the battles can be as long as 8 to 12 hours.
With this system you have the advantage of the miniatures that you can paint like you want, and you don't have to take up the whole day.
There is and up front expense to obtaining all of the different sets that contain the planes, and tanks, different army's and scenarios, but you would have to invest in that even if you did regular miniatures.
To me Khalkhin-Gol is another set that I can add to the rest of the system to expand it and give more battles.
In order to play Khalkhin-Gol you will need several of the miniatures from other sets so check to see which additional ones you willl need.
I have a good system where I play solitaire and it works out great.
So if this is your kind of thing,...,then make the investment and go have fun
Another great map from Days Of Wonder. Unfolds easy, just need a bigger table to play it on. Easy setup, I am looking forward to many hours of playing. I like the simple campaign rules and new units.
