    This is a semi professional camera which isn't just a point and shoot for the age of the camera it still does remarkably well and the quality of the photos are exceptional if you are willing to learn digital photography this is the camera to get

    small issue with the battery grip, the battery seems to go flat in it, this also includes when a new battery is used. other than that, every thing else works ok given the age of the camera.

    Nikon d300S - Built to Last

    I am very impressed with this camera. It has a solid magnesium body and the best ergonomic/design. Outstanding performance for its class; excellent photo quality; solidly built; flexible custom settings architecture; video capture; onboard wireless flash controller; dual card slots. Once at $2,400 it is now accessible for a fraction of the cost. Even among the newest generation Nikons this camera stands out as a winner, for pros and "prosumers" like myself, alike. With the power grip MB-D10 (used on D700 as well) you can shoot like a machine gun at 8fps. Great feeling. Verily recommended. 👍
