Sony Blue Ray Player that could stand improvements
Sony usually makes a good product, however, this blue ray player while easy to configure for picture and playing blue ray disks has some difficulty when it comes to connecting to wireless network. I had to reset it several times because there was handshaking problems with Sony's central server where software upgrades were desired by the player. I even downloaded the binary to USB memory stick only to find that the player didn't recognize NTFS format used with Windows 10 or 8.1 machines. Eventually the handshaking problem was corrected and the unit downloaded the software upgrade. I rate it only four stars because sony has done better in the past with there electronic devices than with this model.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Easy to use but slow and has to be restarted often.
I have never owned a blu-ray player so this is my first one. It was very easy to set up however the system lags in the time to do any function such as pause, play, return, etc. Often this system has to be restarted because the screen freezes often.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Lots of options, great picture quality, a bug sometimes hangs it up
I like all of the inclusions for streaming options. It's intuitive to use and easy to set up. I like that it plays dvd and blue ray, eliminating an extra device and the space it took. Sometimes it hangs up when I try to adjust for subtitles during a program on both Netflix and Amazon Prime. I have to reboot, and sometimes unplug, and start my program over. Was surprised by its size. Really delivers everything looking for in a great DVD player. shows extrodinary quality when using a Blue Ray disc. Enjoy fact that it has NETFLIX and a host of other channels.. Music, Video, Radio, etc; built right in. Works well but struggles with bandwidth
We like the wireless feature of this DVD player and was the primary reason for purchasing it. The unit doesn't keep up with Netflix or Amazon Prime video playback when connected to the internet. It seems like there might not be enough memory in the unit to process it. We have high speed internet through our local cable company. It might be that that bandwidth of our cable internet connection might be glitchy. We had a different sony DVD player that was a previous years model and had no problem with the stop and go play back issues that this unit seems to struggle with. Inexpensive way to view virtually all video formats on my TV
Bought this player to stream video content (.AVI, .MP4, .MKV, etc) via an external portable hard drive (powered by this players front USB port) on to my TV. Works perfectly. Unit is very small. Power supply for unit is an external brick. Remote is easy to operate. Unit was refurbished. Bought 2 of them. Have not used Bluray disc part of the player, but I am guessing it works fine. Not the greatest Blu-Ray Player
Doesn't have a very strong WiFi signal and I can no longer play any DVD's. It just doesn't work at all. Only on WiFi. Sometimes I have to turn it off and reset it to get the signal back. I was a little skeptical because it was a reburished unit. But it has a one year warranty and so far it's worked great. Has great picture quality, responds to commands quickly, has all the apps on it that I wanted plus a bunch more I never expected. I love it.
