    Good Protection Better Than Pipe Clamp

    Bought This For A Ford Ranger Work Truck. Installed In A Few Minutes After Reading Well Written Instructions Were Followed. Like The "Keyed" Lock, Much Harder To Loosen Than The Screw Type Pipe Clamp That Some People Try To Use. Look For The Deal On This McGuard 76029 When The Price Is Under $13.

    Not What The Manufacturer Wants You To Believe It Is

    I have owned 2 of these. The first gave me no trouble at all. This was to go on a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. Install per the manufacturers' instructions, but it will not stay in place. When you open and close the tailgate, the lock becomes loose and slides around. The lock is supposed to stay on the bed mount (right side) of the bed, not on the left (inside) which allows movement. I am now wishing I had a different option, since I bought this to help deter theft that has been happening.

    Quick security for tailgates

    With recent tailgate theft on the rise this is a good quick and inexpensive way to deter theft. Not a good of fit though -a little too large or snug for 2012 Tacoma but works ok.

    Could be made of better materials.

    Material seems like it can break easily with a screwdriver or hammer. It encases a hose clamp. Hopefully it lives upto the McGard reputation and prevents theft of my tailgate
