Weller digital soldering station, a must have
This is a great value for the price. The major difference between it and other units at twice the price is that it has a little slower response during temperature changes. I use this station for circuit board work, LED's, as well as heavy duty soldering for miniature construction. Weller soldering station
Been using standard pen type irons for many years now and they have normally managed to get the job done up until here recently so i decided to upgrade. I looked at a few options mostly the hakko / weller / tectronics stations but in the end i decided to go with the weller because it was pretty much exactly what i wanted. The hakko was nice but the new digital push button interface seemed anoying to deal with and not gonna lie i hated the colors. The Tectronics i looked at for a bit but after reading some reviews i decided to pass. i wanted a long lasting quality station. The weller is easy to use / heats up fast and stays at temp / the tips are super easy to change out / over all feels like a good quality product. If i had to find one thing to nit pic at it would be the odd baby blue ? color it is but i can get over that.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nothing like a Weller !!!
I have been doing component level troubleshooting of electronics since 1974. Almost every shop I ever worked at, including my own business, I used a Weller station daily. With the exception of one unit, they all worked perfectly. The Weller Soldering Station, WESD51, is accurate with the reading of the temperature at the tip and has a fast heat up, recovery and cool down. I am very pleased to see that Weller has used the same case style that has served them well for so many years, the station is comfortable to use and by not having a fixed mount or short cord on the pencil. I've used it on real small that my last pencil iron would have melted right through and I also used it on heavy stuff that my last iron had no chance of working on. Very good buy
I have always bought and use Weller soldering irons and guns. I bought the wes51d because I am working more and more with SMDs. I have a lite duty Weller gun and a heavy duty gun that are over 40 years old. I did have to replace the plug on the lite one. I have a 25w and a 40w Weller desolder pencil irons still work great and they are over 30 years old. This works great. It rises to the temperature quickly. The temperature lock is extremely helpful. No worries about overheating your circuitry as the display shows the temperature in either Fahrenheit or Celsius.
