    It does its job well

    I've been using the 'Toshiba Canvio Desk 3TB 5700RPM (HDWC130XK3J1)' external hard drive for the last three years without any problem at all. I have at home the 'Dish Network Hopper-3 with Sling' for so long and the only external hard drive with more than 2TB of storage is the Toshiba Canvio 3TB (HDWC130XK3J1). I've tried, at least, 4 different brands of external hard drives larger than 2TB, I realize that the only one that realy worked with the Hopper-3 was the one mentioned above. So, I recommend it to everyone who wants a large storage device to connect with the Hopper-3 receiver.

    Received the drive. Downloaded all my data and before I could backup my data, the drive failed. I called Toshiba and they said it cannot be fixed

    Toshiba also cannot replace the drive because they aren't making these anymore. A great disappointment, and I lost a lot of data that was important.

    Toshiba Canvio Desk 3TB,5700RPM (HDWC130XK3J1)

    This is my favorite drive for use with my Dish Network receiver to store movies. I no longer need to get up to turn power on for the drive before using. It has circuitry to do this automatically. If storing movies to it before going to bed, or leaving the house, it turns itself off when done. I am never leaving the drive spinning when it is not needed, assuring longer longer life for the unit.

    ample storage and good price, quick delivery

    Item came exactly as advertised. Box appeared to be unopened. Delivery time was much faster than I expected, considering the device was shipped from China. My only issue with this purchase is the bundled backup software, which is easy to use but lacks features and does not compare to other free backup solutions (even Windows, for that matter).
