    Military watch

    As a vet (from 1970 to 1991) and an infantryman, I wore a more "simple" version of this watch - issued by our supply sergeant. It was a wind up watch (non-automatic) and served me well both in total darkness, through rice paddies, deserts, and during rear-echelon daily functions. It took quite a beating for several years. This Marathon automatic reminds me, in many ways, of that old favorite. Only time will tell if it holds up as well as the old "government issue" squad watch. One concern I do have is the bezel, which "seems" to be made of plastic; hopefully it stands up to daily living. However, so far, I'm well pleased.
