Reviews
"The book is too good to be called a textbook and too interesting to be called a reference book. Yet it is a book you will want to have at hand, for you will refer to it often." Robert Beckley, University of Michigan . "From the subtle and expansive intellect of one of our best, young urban scholars comes Postmodern Urbanism , a trenchant and captivating critique of how we view the city through the lens of urban design. An impressive effort that is not to be --unable to be -- overlooked." Robert A. Beauregard, New School for Social Research "Ellin synthesizes the views of the city inspired by the post-modern perspective. Bringing together social science and architectural perspectives, she weaves a rich web that captures the nuances of the relationship between urban design and culture at the end of the twentieth century." Professor Susan Fainstein, Department of Urban Planning and Policy Development, Rutgers University

Synopsis
This engaging and important work by Nan Ellin presents a lucid account of what postmodernism means for the design of large-scale environments and for those who design and inhabit them. Combining insights from anthropology, history, political economy and literary criticism, Ellin, casts light upon the contemporary crises beleaguering the built environment and the architectural and planning professions.

Most importantly, the book condition was as specified. Many thanks for that. Also, the book was delivered promptly from the USA to the UK. Also, the price was reasonable for an out-of-print book. However, one point of constructive criticism: the packaging could have been much better, in order to better protect the book in transit. The book was sent in a bubble-wrap mailer only, with no cardboard to give the package greater strength. Thank you very much for any consideration of my feedback.

The mail service absolutely ravaged the top binding corner of the book, which really was a disappointment. It’s not your fault as a seller, but please consider that a book in a snug envelope is very unsafe rather than a slightly larger envelope of the same strength. It’s not going to affect your rating. I will say nothing. But please consider this in the future- Post is treated poorly and customer service is poor with mail, so it’s necessary to ship properly, especially if you sell books. :)
