SALVO'S PROCOL HARUM REISSUES ARE THE NEW TOUCHSTONE
I've owned this album in either vinyl or cd since its release in 1969. It's one of my desert island albums. This reissue by Salvo is a pure revelation and a phenomenal piece of remastering. I have a nice simple stereo system, a rebuilt Heathkit AA-30 tube amp, a home made preamp and a pair of Tannoy studio monitors. It's a pretty forgiving set up, not hard edged or hyper critical, but my oh my I'm hearing details in A Salty Dog that I've never heard before. The sound stage is impressive the overall feel transparent and so much space and air inside of it all. A real feast for the ears and soul. I'm going to get the Salvo reissues of Procol's first as well as Shine On Brightly.
