Good filters
These are a little pricy but easy to install and they catch a lot. Not hard to get 6 months out of a set, but I do not always use filtered water on food I'll boil/drain, like pasta.

Got bad filters this time
This set of filters seems different that any of the GE Smartwater filters I've ever had. When first installed the water came out very slowly, was cloudy, and had tiny bubbles suspended in the water. I have used GE Smartwater filters for many years and have experience with them. I know there is an initial purge of the first few gallons. I removed the filters, checked all the openings and connections and reinstalled the filters. They are working slightly better without the cloudiness and tiny bubbles but the water is still coming out unusually slowly. I'm not sure if I just got a bad set but they don't seem like they will make six months. Quality control has not been an issue until the last few years.

The good thing about this product is that is the correct filter to fit my GE under the sink water filtration system. I don't trust other manufactures replacement for my GE Water system.

Genuine GE replacements work best.
I bought aftermarket filters which were exact replacements for the GE filters. They leaked. I measured the inside mating surface of the original GE filters with a digital caliper. The after market filters were .002 larger just enough to leak so I bought these GE brand replacements No more leaks.

The best water system
We have this water filtering system for years, Very EASY to install replacement cartridges and never a problem with operation of system. Also have the filter system for the refrain. Excellent also, Cant's go wrong with the GE water filtering system. Vendor was accurate on description, price and packaging and delivery. Thanks!

Great Water Filter!
Great water filter! This GE Water Filter is a replacement for one I've had for more than ten years. I love it, but sadly, it isn't available any longer. So happy to have found this one on eBay, which was new in box, with everything needed to install it. Works great and hoping it will last as long as my old one.

Expensive alternative
When I purchased this water system from Home Depot, they never told us they would stop making it in 5 years, not be able to but the filters at a store and, have to search for them on the internet! The day is coming where I will have to throw away the whole thing and buy a new one. But it beats hauling bottled water.
