The russians are coming
A great cold war era farce. An island full of characters goes a little crazy when Russians "invade" the island. The Russians have gone aground on a sandbar and are just trying get off the island. Miscommunications, fueled by red scare abound. Great for those of us who enjoy older comedies. The CD plays without problems,

A great family film to share with my friends from Russia
I have a Russian Family coming to South Carolina in June and the title just fitted their planned visit. I bought two - one for them and one for me. I remember well this movie when it came out in 1966.... it has well known actors and is very funny!!!

One of the BEST with Alan Arkin EVER!
LOVED this movie. I think it was grossly underrated at the time of release. AND it was particularly loved by my sisters and I because our grandparents ended up being extras. There ae several full face shots of both of them. They have long since passed away but to get to "see them" like this is truly special!

A best value for the time it take to watch.
This is absolutely one of my favorite movies of all time. The characters are funny while appearing serious. The 1960's cold war era storyline appears to be serious but only comedy ensues.

The Russians Are Comimg, is a laugh riot adventure with caring and in depth characters. Set in the early 60's, it portrays the real life human experience of the failure of political correctness. Engaging and enlightening, this story of northeast America could be any town within our American shores. It has a lighthearted flavor of joy and human frailty which opens a window of wonderful humor.
