Bought the Hoover Linx on a recommendation from a friend. Great vacuum to use on a daily basis on my kitchen floor and laundry room area. Purchased one for my son when he got an apartment at college. It came back to me 2 years later when he was done with college. He now had an apartment with more carpeting so I gave him what was my garage vacuum. He used that for a year and a half and when he moved again he got an apartment with less carpeting and wanted the linx back. At that point I had put the second one upstairs to use. I missed having the convenience to pull out quickly and get the clean up done, so I recently purchased a third linx so I could have one upstairs again. Great small vacuum for quick clean up. They do work well on carpeting also. My son is happy to have "his linx" back and I am happy I decided to get a third one. Hoover Lynx
Be careful when the ad says "NEW" in open box. Sounded ok...the parts were all there and kinda wrapped in plastic. I checked the filters, and they were filthy!! Maybe it was a floor sample or used for a "little while'. Thought...I don't really care. I charged the battery and turned it on. It was not only LOUD, but so NOISEY!!!! My dog got scared to bits, and ran out of the room. No wonder the people wanted to get rid of it. I have another "Lynx". I bought it new in a store,(i needed a second one for a gift) It was a GREAT Vaccuum! Light, quiet, great mobility and suction! This thing disturbs the neighbors dogs! I should have known when the box came with a ton of tape on it! At that price, They could have at least washed out the filters for me! Wish I bought years ago....
I only buy cordless vacuum's, 1 bc I have a very bad back and they are easier to manage and 2 it's all I need since I don't have carpet, kids or pets in my home! I have been using the Shark Freestyle Navigator for many years and was very happy with it. However, my mom has been using the Linx for years and recently had to replace her battery which was pretty pricey but she felt it was well worth it so I decided to give it a try.... WOW, this little lightweight beauty is so powerful it makes the Shark look wimpy! The design is sleek and it feels as if it propels itself. I absolutely love it and HIGHLY recommend the mighty powerful Linx! The price was incredible as well and evening about it appears brand new. Lightweight and easy to use
The Hoover unit is very handy and far more convenient than dealing with trailing wires from plug in vacuum cleaners. This recent purchase is my second one, because I like having a second unit in the basement. It has a relatively high power beater that is sufficient to completely replace my standard plug-in unit. The one minor weakness is that it does not have good edge cleaning power compared to a plug in, but for everyday use it's great. I have mostly wooden floors with carpets and runners so it is convenient to use the beater on the rugs and straight vacuum on the wooden parameters with a flip of the switch. I have three floors of living space and one battery is not sufficient to do the entire house so I have and extra battery, which is very handy. I am careful to let the batteries cool before charging. After a couple of years use, one of my batteries is beginning to loose power. The dust cup is smallish and should be emptied regularly and the sponge filter should be washed and dried once a month or so. Very rarely, fiberish debris from a plant will clog the intake area. I clean it easily with a short piece of stiff but flexible TV cable wire after removing the beater head. Very satisfied with the Hoover.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

We have tried other stick vacs that have a 15+ volt NiMh battery pack, and while they perform well, battery life (not how long they operate on a charge) was dismal. The batteries failed in less than a year. And, they must be stored on a charger so they are ready to go. Not so with the Linx. It has an 18 volt Li-Ion battery that is both more powerful and holds a charge. It also has a clever "fuel gauge" to tell you when to charge the removable battery. Ease of battery removal for charging, should be easier. And, you should not have to put your foot on the vacuum head to tilt the handle back from the upright storage position. great little stick vacuum

Best cordless stick vac ever*
I've had my Hoover Platinum Linx cordless stick vac for several (8) years now, and except for having to sub out the rechargeable Lion battery every 10 to 15 minutes of use, this has been the best, lightest, fastest, and easiest to use and maintain quick vac I have ever used. I use it daily for pet clean up and quick hardwood floor/area rug maintenance. It has both powered roller brush and suction only modes. The dirt cup empties easily, and the filter cleans quickly. So far I have only had to replace the dirt cup (once) and the plastic/bristle bottom dirt guide (not the powered roller). The unit I have just now purchased is a gift (along with an extra battery) for my son and daughter-in-law. The Linx cordless stick vac is rugged, very handy (can be hung in a closet or on a door) and so simple to use, a child can do it. I recommend it!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Greatest light weight cordless vacuum around.
The Hoover Linx is light weight and easy to push. The battery takes a couple hours to charge and last quite awhile. It picks up lint and dirt really well and works on fine wool and silk oriental rugs without harm. I own a antique store and we all like using the Hoover Linx more than the Shark vacuum because it's cordless and you don't have to find a plug or drag a cord around plus it gets under everything better than the Shark. I highly recommend this vacuum. I was introduced to the Hoover Linx by one of our employees who brought his own in for us to try out. I went online that day and bought a used one. Great for quick pick-ups
Very nice vacuum. Power stays up until it dies which is more than enough time to vacuum my home. I have a bird and you can imagine how much he throws and this vacuum has two powers which is needed to clean up after him. This is my second one and the 1st lasted me almost 8 years.
