Nintendo's famed RPG returns to let gamers explore the vast Kingdom of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The action once again stars the iconic hero Link, who is awakened one day by a mysterious female voice beckoning him to Hyrule. The once bustling kingdom now lies in ruins after being attacked by the evil Calamity Ganon, who has been sealed away inside Hyrule Castle. By exploring expansive fields, dense forests, snow-capped mountains, and ancient shrines players can help Link grow strong enough to defeat Ganon before he escapes and destroys the world.<br><br>Breath of the Wild drops gamers into Hyrule with no weapons and no immediate goals. Early on players acquire the Sheikah Slate, a multi-purpose tool that helps Link locate objectives, unlock doors, and upgrade abilities. Gamers are encouraged to explore and interact with the world in a variety of ways, including hunting and gathering food, climbing trees and cliffs, swimming, hang gliding, and even snowboarding. Along the way they will encounter scores of enemies, plenty of treasure, and more than 100 puzzle-filled Shrines of Trials and Sheikah Towers, which can be explored in any order.<br><br>Link can also sell items to merchants and acquire clothing to fit the various environments he encounters, and in battle he can wield an assortment of melee weapons like swords, spears, and axes, as well as ranged weapons like arrows and bombs. The game also supports multiple amiibo figures that can provide assistance in battle or simply offer helpful items.<br><br>This edition includes the full game as well as a 100-page explorer's guide and a double-sided poster.Product Identifiers

Quite a Breath of Fresh Air
There is not much more that can be said about this fantastic game. From visual style, to mechanics, all the way down to the subtlety of gameplay, everything in this package is absolutely outstanding. Many hours were spent playing this game from release, and although it may be a big pill to swallow for newcomers and young players---I wouldn't recommend any other. This is truly a Legend of Zelda that redefines the series in a manner that is both nostalgic and modern. The introduction of the Explorer's edition added a very cool map and guidebook that go in depth in regards to the game's lore and gameplay. Although the map was removed from subsequent 'starter' editions of the game, which is quite the bummer-- the fact that the explorer's edition comes in a cardboard box with contents and style reminiscent of NES games will likely add to this product's collectability among physical collectors in the near future, evident by its current aftermarket value.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

This game is really awesome. I thought the amount of freedom might be a bit overwhelming but it's great. The graphics are great the action is fun and being able to try different things is really interesting. A fresh take on a classic series
I love the Zelda series and this game is easily one of the most ambitious to date. A lot of fun and a very new feel. There are aspects of old Zelda games that I miss but as a whole it really moved the series forward. Most innovative game since Ocarina of Time!
