    Typical Sony product- Excellent!

I bought these for my wife so she could listen to TV while I get some sleep. She's very pleased with them. She was worried that they were too big, which they are big, but she hasn't complained about that since. The battery life is good between charges. She probably gets a weeks worth out of them before they need a charge. I set them up for her, and they found the signal and were connected to the TV right away, unlike the cheaper ones we had prior. Those you had to hit the scan button sometimes 50 times to lock onto the right signal every time you used them. The Sony's were 1st shot, and they stay locked on every time you use them. What a relief. My personal opinion on the sound quality is only fair, but I'm more of a critic when it comes to sound than my wife is. Maybe the sound would be different if hooked up to a stereo system rather than the TV? I don't know, haven't tried that yet. Anyway, good product, might buy another pair for backup.

    Part Time Headphones

These headphones are okay when they work. About half the time when taken off of the charger, the charger/transmitter box needs to be unplugged and plugged back in for the headphones to come on. Quite often the light on the box starts to blink and the headphones quit working until the box is unplugged and plugged back in again. A couple of days ago they wouldn't work at all, then started working again after charging them for a few hours. I suspect that the batteries may need to be replaced even though they are only a couple of months old. I replaced the batteries on an older set of Sony headphones (different model #) with higher capacity batteries with very good results. The sound quality is okay most of the time. Occasionally there will be some static which doesn't last very long; sometimes turning them slightly will improve the reception. A new set of batteries may improve the reception as well.

  • Sony has the best headphones for TV listening

This is a gift for a 95 yr old man with hearing loss, spoken word clarity. He has not received it yet. I attached the headphones to my TV and listened with them. I have my own Sony headphones but an older model that I love. The design on this set is less secure than my own older pair, in that it slips a bit on my head if I look down or get up while wearing them. I am worried that they will slip on the recipient's bald head as well but hoping his head is larger than mine and it will be fine. There is an on/off switch on the headphones which will be an extra step when not in use, remembering to turn them off. My personal set is only engaged when it sits on my head so no on/off button. Mine recharges in a cradle recharger unit. This set recharges as it engages with the electrical units on the top of the stand when the headphones are placed on it, as pictured. These are just differences in models and both require just using them and getting USED to how they work. The bottom line is that your quality of hearing the spoken word in news programs, favorite tv shows, music, etc will be measurably improved as will your enjoyment!!! THAT is priceless!

  • Pretty Good Choice

I've owned these for four months now and use them quite a bit. As a general rule, the sound quality of modern HD television sets pretty much stinks to the the high heavens. The solution is to beef up your sound with after market speakers and amplifiers in order to get decent sound. Or, you can purchase something like these headphones as a quick and cheap solution to the problem. If you are hard of hearing it's an obvious answer to needing more volume while not driving anyone else out of the room. You just sit there with these things hanging off your head. You won't even hear the laughter of whomever is there with you. Sound quality is quite good considering the price. They're not as crisp as they could be but I can live with that. For listening to televised music they're a real godsend. Plenty of bass, for sure.

  • "Surprised Us"

For a refurb item that means to me that something was wrong with them and they were returned for whatever reasons. So I took chance and bought one which surprised me that they worked so well beyond expectations that I immediately bought another one for my wife. Now we can each listen to different sound sources since they plug into just about anything with an audio output jack. And there are no more "sound wars" between me and my wife turning up the volume trying to drown the other one out so we can hear the programs. She listens to books on her boom box and at the same time I watch Netflix movies. For the price, as long as you don't expect perfect sound quality they can not be beat.

  • Very helpful!

These headphones do a good job of enhancing my hearing while watching TV programs. I'm glad I can adjust the volume, because some programs are louder than others. I watch around 5 or 6 hours of TV daily. I find that, despite the cushioning around the ear pieces, I get some pain and discomfort around both ears after a few hours of use, though. So sometimes I have to give myself a break and take them off. My hearing isn't terrible, so I mainly find them helpful on programs where actors are British speaking or practically whispering. Then I can pick up the minor voice inflections that might otherwise be unintelligible or confusing. I don't use hearing aids. These are doing the job for now. I've had a different style from Sony, too, that had a kind of cradle to sit in while not in use for recharging. This style is much easier to get in the right position for recharging. Overall I'm satisfied with the product.

  • What I needed.

I bought these so I could watch TV and not disturb my wife's sleep. These headphones look nice and sound great. They are comfortable considering the size and weight. They receive the signal for quite a distance before breaking up. My only complaint is that they do get interference in parts of my house causing loss of signal. I can turn my head and it goes away. I like being able to listen to sports while playing on the computer and still not disturb my wife. These have an amazing sound quality for the most part and I'm satisfied with them. They serve the purpose i bought them for.

  • Works well. Had a cheap set that worked better.

Work ok. For the price/brand name I expected better. Comfortable and light, over the ear as opposed to on top of (pressing) the ear. Easy/typical pairing process. From the off position press and hold the button until blue/red flashes, go to bluetooth setting and put device in discovery. works every time on my iMac. The disadvantage I experience is when I disconnect it from the machine and leave it for a 12-36 hours it will not sync/pair. The headphones are no longer on the list of devices. A previous cheaper bluetooth headset I had before this would always be on the list and connect as soon as I turned on the headphones. (possible mine are defective?) Charge only lasts maybe 2 days at most. Can't use the headset when it's plugged into power. The previous headset I had would loose sync with audio while watching TV. Would not be noticeable with music of course. Only by as much as 2 or 3 seconds. I see it with these as well but not more than 1/2 to 1 sec. I think maybe bluetooth is not a perfect technology yet.

  • Not up to the quality of the Sony name

I have three wireless headphone sets. I purchased this set when my older set's headband broke. This set has the poorest reception of the three sets. It advertises up to 165 ft. There are three channels on the set. the channel with the best reception also has the most distortion. Right now I am within 3 ft of the transmitter and the quality is OK, If I go to another room I start to get reception issues. It will not work well beyond 50 ft or when there is a wall between the headset and the transmitter. One of my other units works well all of the way out to my detached garage (150 ft..) and the other one will do that and out to 210 ft. even though it was only rated for 150 ft. I tried two copies of this product. Both are similar in performance. I do like the fit and feel of this product. I am considering putting the guts of my broken headset into this body, seems to be the only way I will get a win-win.

  • NOT QUITE PERFECT, BUT GOOD ENOUGH

DON'T GET CLOSE TO A MICROWAVE, THEY'LL STATIC A LITTLE. SATISFACTORY RANGE WITH GOOD SOUND. I'M SATISFIED. SONY HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY CHOICE. ONE THING THEY COULD HAVE ON THEM IS A "MUTE BUTTON". WHEN I USE THE TV-REMOTE MUTE SWITCH FOR OVER TOO LONG A TIME, THE UNIT HAS AN AUTO-SHUT-OFF THAT ACTIVATES. I WOULD PREFER A MUTE SWITCH ON THE HEADPHONE IN AN EASY LOCATION FOR QUICK COMMERCIAL SHUT-OFFS AND QUICK COME-BACKS... OVERALL, I SAY BUY THEM AND ENJOY YOUR FREEDOM FROM A BOTHERSOME CORD...
