    Based on a true story... This disclosure always captures my interest in the storytelling. The actors, Director and other contributor's making the film, provide the essential ingredients. In this film, well known actors deliver on screen. The plot, and tension of the protagonist in the film builds nicely. I liked it because of the gritty protagonist never giving up. Even when challenged by her own family members, the justice and fulfillment needed in the film comes through with amazing clarity. The last act is a revelation in forgiveness and demonstrates the potential and greatness in a woman that believed in her abilities and value to the world around her .

    NOT WORTH THE TIME TO WATCH IT

    The ending reminded of movies where there is a surprise ending, like Agatha Cristy movies. What annoyed me about this movie's ending was that the explanation of Joy's end of the movie experience is not laid out in easy to understand form.

    Stars Jennifer Lawrence, not De Niro. (He plays support role).

    Excellent primer for anyone launching their own business. Jennifer Lawrence gives an outstanding performance portraying the inventor/mom who ultimately succeeded in creating her own empire. The family dynamics make for excellent entertainment.

    This was all Jennifer's acting ability that made this TRUE STORY OF JOY tremendously an awsome story to watch. I just know the real JOY was as impressed with Jennifer. I may say that Bradley Cooper added some acting on the later scenes as well...
