    Cheaper than centurylink

This type of modem is required for Centurylink bonded-pair connections. In my area they wanted $150 for it, but I got a much better deal here. I'm not using the wifi portion so I can't comment on that (I have a more capable standalone router) but internet-wise it works well. I'm currently getting 80/40 Mb/s speeds through it (though it can go as much as 100/12 - roughly a total of 115-120 Mb/s split between down/up as centurylink allows). It allows bonded-pair, so roughly 2x the 60Mb/s combined up/down max of a single DSL line (currently the fastest you can get without going for Fiber).

    Less powerful that old model

This modem had less range than my old PK5000 Zyxel modem. Couldn't get a signal at all for parts of the house that had no problem before. I returned it and went back to the older one while I look for another brand.

  • For DSL the C3000Z is a great purchase.

Very easy set-up and great performance. Purchased this for my parents who have DSL and an old CenturyLink modem that would randomly cut out and drop their internet connection; requiring a reboot of that modem to reconnect. This C3000Z was a simple swap of devices; log into the new modem via lan connection and IP address. Go to quick set-up and put in the necessary authentication information as it was stated from the old modem. Up and running within a half hour. It's been running flawlessly and with more download speed for the past couple weeks. Very happy with purchase.

  • Good modem

Have only had this unit connected for a few days and have found it consistently performing well as a modem. I have it set up in bridge mode with the wifi connection disabled so I cannot comment on the wifi router portion of this combination device.

  • Great value

Century Link wanted $150 or $10/month rental for ever! Bought it for half the price. Works just fine. However, the USB "does not" read an external Hard Drive. Bummer. So I might just use it only as a Modem and reconnect my Netgear Router which "will" read external USB 3TB Hard Drive full of pictures and videos. I can access them from my LG-V20 phone and Samsung S3 Tablet. Can't access it with my iPad nor iPhone.

  • Excellent product

Product is 5 stars all the way around. CenturyLinc was a pain. After numerous phone conversations I finally got an engineer that could make the changes in there system to get things going.

  • Works Great

Replaced my 5 year old Century Link modem/router with this one. Easy install, no hassles. up and running in 5 minutes. Did not even need to call CL tech support. Much less expensive that buying from Century Link.

  • Complete product

Like new, the C3000z modem is performing good so far. I like that it included everything that was required to make it work. So far no problems.

  • Why rent a modem when you could buy this?

Refurbished modem had a couple minor scratches and a non-standard power cord, but it works perfectly-nearly a year and no problems yet! The phone cable that came with it didn't allow me full speed, but luckily I had another one on hand. I would recommend this--why pay to rent a modem?

  • Works with TDS

This is the only modem I found that works with TDS. It still has CenturyLink as the setting for PPP, but haven't found that to be a problem.
