    Great wifi range extender!

The Netgear X4S tri-band is a great wifi range extender. It uses mesh technology so it keeps the same wifi network name & password you already have so it creates a seamless extended network. Performance seems very strong with excellent signal strength to all of my dead wifi areas. I've needed to reboot it (power off/on) a couple of times in 2 months because of signal not being extended. Not sure if that is due to my ISP, main wireless router or the extender. Powering off then back on resolved the issue each time.

  • Top critical review

    Didn't work for me.

I got this to extend my WiFi. I already have a Netgear router, and thought this would help to get the signal to my bedroom TV. It doesn't really do anything. So No, I wouldn't recommend it, I certainly wasted my money, and although it looks like good quality, how would I know? So I put yes on that question.

  • great router, difficult to set up when you don't know what you are doing...

Setting it up was next to impossible. Finally found its DHCP address by going into my router. Nothing helped on the internet (at least that I could find).... But it is working well!

  • I love it

I love it. It was easy to set up, connecting it to my Netgear Nighthawk router in the basement. I then took the extender to my carriage house to plug it into an outlet there. The carriage house, a separate building about 30 feet away, gets terrible wifi reception. Even though the extender's reception indicator in the carriage house is red (rather than blue or amber), indicating bad reception, the extender still does a fabulous job of getting wifi into the area. I have no trouble at all now streaming or working on line in the carriage house. Highly recommend.

  • Good wifi extender. Would recommend :)

I thought I'd better range from the unit, but it is still better than what I had before. I like it that you can combine SSID's from your whole house, into one - that just makes sense! I would recommend it to anybody looking to increase their wireless foot print.

  • A long setup but a good final outcome

Netgear makes good products overall but the setup is not plug & play. It takes some finagling. I have setup many devices and the NetGear are always the most fuzzy. When they work, they work great. When they do not, they are trash-worthy.

  • Simple to use and easy to install

Been using this for a few weeks and it is great, it works with my Spectrum WiFi and has expanded my range to outside of the house. I can now enjoy my deck and get some work done at the same time! Set up was easy, just follow the instructions, and installing it was as simple as plugging it in.

  • Netgear Nighthawk X4S Tri-Band WiFi Mesh Extender

The mesh extender is easy to set up, and works a long distance away, but they cannot be daisy chained, one after the other, however, there can be more than one mesh extender in a network. Have the mesh extender 30 ft from router, even with a poor signal indication, get about 40% of network performance at the far end. An excellent purchase.

  • Improved WIFI coverage

The NETGEAR WiFi Mesh Range Extender EX7500 has helped with coverage in house. I had a problem using WPS to set up the extender, but that maybe user error more than a problem with the extender. When I used the setup option instructions without WPS the set up was easy.

  • No noticeable signal improvement

unfortunately, no noticeable improvement to my WIFI signal strength, full disclosure I upgraded my xfinity WIFI to Xfinity gig wifi & the signal strength dramatically decreased coming out of the modem highest speed attained was 113-mbps from the 1200mbps entering home. So, the continued weak signal I receive from my Xfinity wifi could be the contributing factor of no noticable wifi signal improvement from the Netgear mesh extender. I was really expecting signal improvement due to it was an Xfinity technician that referred the Netgear mesh extender to me.
