  • Shure SCM262 Stereo Mixer is a winner!

I have relied on Shure wireless units and microphones for years of dependable service. The design and quality of construction is hard to beat. This Shure stereo mixer is another fine product, and the half rack size means it can be paired with a half rack wireless unit in a one rack case for easy transport and use for a vocalist, guitarist, or any musician looking for an all-in-one compact system. My particular use is for dance/fitness classes. The Shure mixer has automatic ducking, meaning the music is automatically lowered when someone is speaking into the microphone. This is ideal for dance/fitness instructors. My mixer outputs to Mackie SRM450 powered speaker monitors. It required XLR Male to 6.35 mm (1/4") Jack Male GLS Audio Stereo Coupler Adapters, because Mackie speakers use XLR cables, but the adapters are inexpensive through Ebay sellers. With three stereo inputs, you can add a mini jack cable for mp3/iPod players, cd players, or a tuner. One aux stereo output allows for recording. Two microphone XLR inputs are enough for most applications. This mixer is amazingly quiet, and the knobs are smooth and tight, as are the volume transitions. Bass and treble adjustments allow satisfactory shaping of music and sound. The Shure SCM262 stereo mixer has all the features to satisfy the most demanding dance studio operators. A minor drawback is the absence of an on/off switch, but connection to a power strip solves this minor problem. I have gone through numerous rack mount mixers in the 30+ years I've operated dance studios, and this unit is by far, the best.

  • Nice little mixer...

You can always depend on Shure products - used or new. They're built well and last forever. I purchased this particular mixer quite used, and by the pictures I was a little worried, but the price was right ($65 total). Brand new it costs around $250 at the time of this writing (August 2016). If you can find this unit between $65 and $100, it's a tremendous bargain. The one I purchased works like it's brand new. It's a small professional mixer.

  • Great little mixer.

I'm only using the stereo line-inputs, not the mic inputs, but this mixer is perfect for my needs. Using to feed a pair of powered speakers, with a PC, a Mac, and an audio device feeding into it. Great quality, built to last.

  • Lives up to the Shure name

It’s a good product, most Shure products are. I’ve owned many Shure’s over the years. The only improvement I would make on the 262 would be dual power (option for 12 VDC operation.)
