AIPHONE JF-2MED Simply User friendly
When I purchased my home it came with the Aiphone JF-series intercom system installed. My home system was comprised of the JF-2MED master panel, two JF-2HD substations, and the outdoor panel the JF-DVK. The JF-2MED Master panel is easy to configure. It has 7 bell chimes to select from, allows recording 2 pre-set messages to play if you don't want to manually respond to visitors, able to record audio & video conversations (Up to 2 minutes). When used with the JF-substation panels, the JF-2MED allows the user to answer the door/gate from any of the stations, and has controls to ring the other substations for intercom communications. In actual use the system is very reliable, and convenient to use. The entire system worked reliably. The faults I could find with the JF-2MED, is the circuit in the unit has no protection against power surge or lightening strike. Which is what happened with my JF-series system during a thunder storm. When this panel fried, all the other substations constantly flashed its 4 LED lights. Aiphone does not sell repair parts for the panel, the entire unit must be replaced when damaged. The JF-2MED is very pricey considering this unit & the JF-series system are over 5 years old. The screen & video resolution is 720p, and controls are membrane type switches. This panel is user friendly. I gave it a 4-star rating due to the less than robust quality against electrical storms.
