I fitted this panel above the Bimini on my 31 foot sport cruiser to keep the house batteries topped up while I'm away working. Does an excellent job and the light weight has no detrimental effect on the Bimini support struts. Wiring was an easy operation with the enclosed instructions.

Good: The solar panel performs well, at 33deg south I'm getting 70W output (July) when the panel is horizontal. Taking into consideration the cell temp coefficient, latitude, & time of year this seems acceptable for an STC of 100W. The frame is solid and general appearance is good. Bad: The construction of the panel, particularly sealing of the panel into its frame is a little untidy, so I'm not sure if this will compromise it's life expectancy.

This solar panel is set up to keep my 12volt battery in the caravan at full charge. I am now exploring options for connecting a 12v- 240- inverter for 240 volt low draw items in the van so that I can do some "free camping" Like to hear of any suggestions in this regard.

I bought similar units a while ago and was so pleased with them, I bought some more. Each panel comes with its own solar controller which is essential to prevent over charging. Even though each panel is only 100W, it is sufficient to keep my batteries fully charged. Each battery has its own solar panel and the stored power is available for use during power blackouts and to run water pumps. Solar panels are cheaper than generators, and the power is free.
