I was replacing some Topgun leads which were apparently also missing the metal surrounds, hasn’t has them since I had the vehicle but no signs of melting at all. Hence me not realising they were required. I guess your ones melt.I have others with metal surrounds now anyway. Thanks again for clarifying.
