    3pcs 3"x 0.3" Drilled Ferrocerium Firestarters & Wire Keychain

    Just the right size for a pocket and the Stainless Steel Wire Keychain attaches to a knife or sheath or your keys to be available and not lost somewhere. The first test on receiving was to make a spark, which took me several tries with my carbon steel knife, but after scratching away some of the outside black surface and getting to the silvery inside of the fire rod I was making fat sparks. Further experimentation showed an old hack-saw blade is an excellent steel striker and makes GIGANTIC sparks because of the high carbon steel content. So much for proving these ferro rods work, since I tested each one the same way. A great value and a good tool to have with you that's easy to use.

    If you don’t know

    If you don’t remember to sand off the black of a rod don’t complain when it won’t spark. I got these in sanded them with 100 grit knocked off the blueing and they lit multiple fires from the length and weight I estimated maybe 100 fires under dry conditions each before they will need to be replaced so worth the money good investment and super easy to carry. Oh they even spark with rusty barbed wire ( not as well but you can make it work)

    Exactly what I needed.

    I bought these to make attachments for my custom kydex sheaths. I only needed one, but I figured I could use one and sell one so I bought 3. They are high quality. I used 1 as intended to make hundreds of kydex Ferro rod sheath attachments. Sold one with a custom knofe and sheath I sold. And made a unique sycamore knot handle for the rod I kept. Highly recommended. Keep one in the glove box with some fatwood etc. Hook one to the keys. Throw one in the buy out bag. Give as gifts. I'll buy 3 more and I recommend you do the same.
