I've seen this movie on TV a long time ago, but it never looked like this. The Blu-ray is magnificent. The colors and clarity are vivid and crisp. The story is as old as time itself and has a great introduction by Mr DeMille himself. Because of the age of the film, the "special effects" are quite antiquated and amusing at times. The acting is top notch from start to finish and the story is interesting and never a dull moment,

A good retelling of an historic event, but certainly not the best that could be done. Studio scenes with wooden performances by some of the actors were accented with massive wide shots of thousands of people stumbling around in the desert. Charleton Heston stole the show with his portrayal of Moses. Yul Brynner was equal to the task of bringing Ramses to life. Female actors were guilty of posing rather than portrayal of characters. Plastic mannequins could have done the job for less money. Special effects were good for the time in which they were produced, but lame by today's standards. The fire of God was a cartoon character - not very intimidating at all. The parting of the Red Sea waters remains a landmark special effect, though.
