I admit to being biased as I love the Myst series. The most original, compelling and non-violent games ever. Beautiful, haunting graphics and music. Challenging clues, mysteries and codes to decipher. Excellent storylines. So original they are hard to describe, you must experience them yourself. The first game in the series, Myst, was released in 1993 by brothers Rand and Robyn Miller and their video game company Cyan. Riven, the sequel to Myst, was released in 1997, and was followed by three more direct sequels: Myst III: Exile in 2001, Myst IV: Revelation in 2004, and Myst V: End of Ages in 2005. A spinoff featuring a multiplayer component, Uru: Ages Beyond Myst, was released in 2003 and followed by two expansion packs. Hours of gameplay but if you are at a loss with a particular stage, there are excellent walkthroughs online. You can also check out Youtube for complete run throughs of all the Myst series. "Dilandau3000" is my favourite Myst gamer on youtube. He covers most of the series in great detail and is a delight. The same team Cyan, Inc. have just released their latest game, Obduction, which I can also highly recommend. Buy on GOG or Steam. This 10th Anniversary edition plays superbly on Windows 10. Microsoft do list it in their list of approved games for Windows 10. As expected, I have not experienced any glitches or problems and have applied no fixes. The seller memare11 was excellent in all respects and comes highly recommended. I am in the UK and this disc is only available from the USA but I consider the p&p good value and well worth it.Read full review

I had the original games and had some trouble with those locking up my system even after running them in compatibility mode. I have Vista now and can run everything that I ran on XP. After installing Myst it worked perfectly for me. then I installed Riven and had trouble with it locking up my system. I installed riven on a machine in another room that is running XP and it runs much better even though it stopped running after about 1 hour. I have not installed Exile yet to see if it works on Vista. With the original Riven you had to swap out disc's alot while playing. With the DVD Version you don't swap anything because everything is on one DVD which is much better. I will keep trying to tweak Riven with Vista to get it working better but it may not run well on Vista.
I used to own these games on Windows 95/98 and missed them once I'd switched to XP. When I heard that they had been released as a 3 game set (Myst, Riven and Exile) for XP as a DVD Rom I couldn't wait to purchase it. No switching disc's about, 1 disc for each is excellent. You may hear of people saying that they can't get them to run on their systems but if you use the Quicktime supplied with the games, you shouldn't have a problem, I certainly haven't !! Has bought back many memories and I now have all 5 of the Myst collection to give me many hours of more enjoyment. A highly recommended Box set.
Interesting game. It's an older game so Graphics are okay and there's no action. It's good for people who like to solve problems.
